How to improve writing speed.

I intend to use digicam to control a Nikon J1 camera and write the file to the hard disk. But in an i7 with 16 Gb RAM, it takes around 4 seconds to write the file which is a bit low for my requirement. What is the bottleneck here. USB2 or the disk writing speed? Will it be possible to increase the s...

Beta is working. Thank you.

I have to mention that I am using a Nikon J1. And it was working fine (Capture only) for my purpose.

Re: Supported camera with fully electronic shutter?

Please also advise me how to speed up the transfering process while keeping the auto preview. I am testing the system with an old Core 2 Quad machine with 4GB RAM. Windows 7 64. Now it takes about 9 seconds to transfer the RAW file which is around 8 MB. What are the steps to take to increase the spe...

Re: Supported camera with fully electronic shutter?

Hi, I have tested with the Nikon J1. It captures fine. I am capturing with a manual Canon FD lens so I do not need other facilities (bracketing, focus etc.) Thank you. However the software saves the file on the PC as well as on the Camera. Since I need to capture a large number of photographs, this ...

Re: Supported camera with fully electronic shutter?

I have the same requirement. Sorry so far no one has responded. I just wanted to try a NIkon J1 for a test. Anyone had success with a J1. Only to capture to hard disk. No need for other controls.
Thanks in advance.
