Nikon D3300 Is it possible to send focus commands while using HDMI out?

I think technically I'm not supposed to do but is there any workaround? I know digiCC can change shutter speed so I don't see why it would be able to change focus. I hate how slow/ low res the live view is over usb. Just wondering. New to all this. Thanks.

Hey timeslider

I also have a similar question to yours. I have a NikonD3300, And i want to use my MacBook Air to view in real time what it is that I'm shooting.
There are two ports used on the 3300 model. The MiniHdmi, and other port (which idk what the name is)
The "other' port uses the Eg-Cp14 audio video cabel/UC-E16 to USB cable which i will provide a link for.
Now my mac uses a thunderbolt 2.0 cord, also known as a MiniDisplay port. Which i prefer to use as it has higher data transferability compared to the USB 3.0.

DigiCam says to connect your camera to your computer's USB port. I want to know if I can use my Mac's thunderbolt (mini DP) option.
I haven't bought any of these chords/adapter yet. So I'd like to know if this is possible. I'd test it out myself but again, I have yet to buy anything

Thanks
