Focus stacking with Vista not functioning right

When I try to use the focus stacking function at the top where you can set steps and number of photos, if I change the number of steps it resets the number of photos to the default...if I try to change the number of photos it resets the number of steps to the default...and the start and stop buttons are not active at all.

I still cannot get this function to work properly.
Actually, now, I am not sure the focus stacking is working at all.
Is there some kind of simple test I could do to see if the software changes the focus on the camera?

You can use manual focus controls in the bottom of the live view screen
I will make a short video, about focus stacking functionality but now i'm really busy
