Nikon D80 and software Stuck after taking single picture

Post by theChef613 » Thu Dec 29, 2016 9:19 pm

Hello! Thank you in advance for your help!
I am using my Nikon D80 with version 2.0 (non-beta). Everything works fine (the software detects the camera and takes a picture) but after taking a picture the camera locks up with "PC" on the screen and the software claims that the pictured has been transferred even though there's a "loading wheel" where the picture should be and after just the Digicamcontrol Logo where the picture should be. When I try to take another picture I get "Device MTP Error: Device is Busy"

Thanks again for the help!

Try to set the transfer mode (left bottom) to Save PC and camera

Hello,
Thank you for your response. I set the transfer mode as you described and the problem persists.
Thanks again!

I had the same problem with my D80. In my case it was because the memory card already had filenames that were of the same name that the software was trying to create. Or at least that is what I suspected, so I reformatted the memory card and made sure that my PC save folder was empty and that seemed to fix the issue with my D80.

How did you get your D80 to take a picture? Mine still refuses to.

Try selecting the storage to camera only to bypass the PC memory. If that works it may be the filename conflict I was having.if not, check the firmware version on your camera. I think this software will work only with the latest firmware for the D80. You can upgrade the firmware with a download from Nikon.

I have had this same problem and renaming the file (I set it to use the camera file names) has solved the issue. Thank you!
