multi xiaomi cameras

Post by sat654321 » Mon Apr 10, 2017 3:16 pm

Dear specialists,

we are students and we are thinking of a construction of relatively cheap full body scanner. For that relatively simultaneous snapshots from about 70 cameras have to be done and than transferred to computer. We were amazed by software and because of that we thought of choosing Xiaomi Yi cameras. But if it is possible to control so many of them is not clear for us. Are Xiaomi Yi cameras controlled via USB or WiFi by software?

Thank you for your answers

The software use wifi connection to control yi cameras, by default the camera act like a access point, so you can connect with a wifi adapter to a single camera. I read somewhere, there is a hack to make the camera to connect to a existing access point, in that way you can control multiple cameras with a single wifi adapter, but i never tried.
A another concern is the camera fisheye lens not really can be used for 3d scanning.
