Version 2.1.0.0 Failed

I have been using version 2.0.74.0 for 7-8 months. It does what I need. I finally gave in to the upgrade dialog that pops up EVERY time I open the software and downloaded 2.1.0.0.

I run Win 7 Pro 64 bit on an HP laptop.

I installed 2.1.0.0 and tried opening the software. Immediate BSD (Blue Screen of Death.) Rebooted in Safe Mode and looked around. No damage I could see. Rebooted and tried the Uninstall. Uninstall failed. Now I am stuck. I can't remove the newer version and I can't reinstall the older version (says there is a newer version present.)

I am currently trying to clean the registry of all references to DigiCam so MAYBE I can go back to 2.0.74.0. Hundreds of registry references to remove.

Some help would be great. I like the software and use it frequently for product pictures.

I had a similar problem with a Win7 laptop. Deleted all references in the registry but still unable to get the older version to run.
I have posted more detail in "Stable Version" thread.

Tried the .msi file recommended with no luck.
Sometimes I get the BSD, & other times it won't proceed beyond the splash screen.

I exactly have the same issue!! I was using version 2.0.74.0 the same and it was doing a great job. After installing the upgrade I got the same issues.
I am trying to get back to the older version but it keeps giving me issues that it's already installed.

It would be great if someone can help because I was very satisfied with the older version (I should never clicked on the upgrade) but now I am stucked. Many thanks in advance!

In the attachment the text file I am getting when I try to repair it. Or uninstall it and try to download it again.
I also tried to uninstall it and go back to version 2.0.74.0.
Unfortunately that doesn't work because it says "Cannot install a product when a newer version is installed."
Even when I have uninstalled the program in Control Panel.
Are there some files I have to delete manually?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Hey Everyone

There is no solution for this is posted here but if you run the installer file for 2.1.1.0(or whatever version you have installed and select uninstall it will allow you to install earlier versions.
Do not run the uninstaller from Control panel or the start menu folder of it will constantly report a newer version is installed.

Run the install file "digiCamControlsetup_2.1.0.0.exe"
If you have uninstalled the software from control panel(or anywhere else), run the repair option or reinstall the software.
Run "digiCamControlsetup_2.1.0.0.exe" again and select the uninstall option.
You should now be able to install previous versions.

Hi,
experienced similar problems with Version 2.1.0 and 2.1.1 on a Win7-System and now again (after upgrade) on a Win10-System.
After starting the program the loading process did not finish which means that I had to reboot the system.
I will try to use an older version after deinstalling all relevant files as described in earlier posts.
Will let you know the results.
