Change Settings during Time Lapse

Is there a way to manually change settings such as shutter speed or ISO during a Time Lapse set? I'd like to be able to modify the shutter speed or ISO settings between shots (after seeing the previous image). I see that this could be done through scripting, but you would have to know ahead of time what you want each value to be, which is not always possible. Is there a way to solve this? It seems like it would be simple, but those controls are not available when the Time Lapse window is open. So I don't know how hard it would be to enable that. Thanks!
