PC Remote control with Sony DSC-HX90V

Hi everyone,
I am having some trouble in using digiCamControl to remotely control my Sony DSC-HX90V. In the list of supported cameras this model appears therefore I guess that I am doing something wrong.
After installing digiCamControl and configuring the USB connection of the camera on MTP, if I start the application it immediately recognizes the camera. However, I cannot press the Live-View mode (it is in grey) and, if I press "capture photo" it gives me the message "impossible to implement the method or operation" (translated from Spanish: "no se puede implementar el método o la operación".
I am stuck! What am I doing wrong?
I have also tried to download a Matlab scripts from FileExchange which uses digiCamControll DLL library in order to control the acquisition using a Matlab script. It happens exactly the same: Matlab successfully recognizes the camera but, just after the CapturePhoto command, it gives the same identical error: "impossible to implement the method or operation"
Any help or suggestion will be appreciated. It is not mandatory for me to use digiCamControl or Matlab, so that also suggestions concerning alternative methods suitable to control the image acquisition of my camera using a Laptop are more than welcome.
