Remote zoom capability

I have a Canon Powershot SX70 HS. The plan is to use the camera in a photo booth. The camera has an internal zoom. I do not believe that digiCamControl supports the operation of the zoom remotely. If I am correct, I would like to help add the capability to the software.

What is the best option for adding this feature? Should this be done to the digiCamControl program assembly, or should this be done via a plug-in?

This feature can be added only modifying the main program
