I discovered that it is possible to do snapshots out of LiveView.
The dialog offers the field "Capture count" and "Capture delay".
While the first would seem to be the number of pictures taken the second seems to be the time between shots in milliseconds.
So far, so good. With "Capture Snapshot" I can start the "snapshot", but even with a high number of "counts" it stops after something like 10 seconds.
Why that?
It would be so cool if this works, as the mirror of my DSLR (Nikon D90) is not moving the whole time and, by that, not worn off.
With the "normal" timelapse the mirror would be worked with every shot and aging of all moving parts would be unavoidable.
