Minor issues/suggestions regarding photo download.

Post by Serge » Sat Jul 30, 2016 6:23 pm

Using Canon 70D, DigiCamControl v2.0.46.0, on Win7 64bit.

1) After photos are downloaded the thumbnails appear but the 'processing' dots keep spinning around the capture icon indefinitely. They stop if another photo is taken (log file attached)

2) Displayed file names in the download menu display "_" as an underline, eg IMG1234 instead of IMG_1234, but mouse hover over the file shows the correct name, but there the dates are incorrect: "File date :0001-01-01 00:00:00".

3) "Delete files after transfer" does not actually delete files. (log file attached) could be related to issue 1.

4) If both "Delete files after transfer" and "Format all camera cards" are ticked then digiCamControl Crashes after Download. (log file attached). Unchecking "Delete files after transfer" and just having "Format all camera cards" checked works as expected.

5) If "Format all camera cards" is ticked an incorrect warning message is displayed "Transferred files will be deleted.\nDo you want to continue", should say something like "All camera files will be deleted after transfer of selected files", ie not just the transferred data. Format option should grey out the delete option, or format should be a "format now" button instead.
Note the warning message for "Delete files after transfer" also has a "\n" in the warning message instead of an actual line break or space.

6) Downloading the same file twice creates multiple thumbnail previews even though there is only one file in the session folder.

7) Would be very useful to have a "Delete Now" button to delete selected files without downloading them.

8) Select and deselect using space is awkward requiring tab to be used, partly because Tab order is not sensible.

9) Not sure what "Unchecked duplicates" does, (ie duplicates files on the camera? can that happen? Maybe a tool tip could aid other overly curious people as to what it does.)

10) "Help" in top right is not linked to the help page: http://digicamcontrol.com/doc/userguide ... ace/downph

Hope this is useful, even though its low priority. Wish I was smart enough to make corrections.
