450D canon no real operation

My first observations are -
450D connects and works with my canon remote software ,window view and capture all work and downloads fast , focus works quickly but hasn't got features that you would expect in remotesoftware like astro, timelapse , bracket etc

digicam control software -
- 450D connected to digicamcontrol software - digi cam recognises 450D bottm right of screen ..connected
- digitcam will not capture picture as it says cannot connect to do raw or jpg files..
- focus works but everytime you press left or right focus on software it takes 30s for the procedure to finish.. clearly not workable as canon software is instananeous..

So far software seems unworkable .
Any ideas appreciated ..

I have been trying to get this my 450D to work with digicam but no success with focus or shot taking . I have not seen any replies here so not sure there is any support ?
