Connecting Nikon D3100

My Nikon D3100 will not connect to my PC running Windows 10 Pro. Two months ago DigiCamControll would recognize my D3100 and operate correctly. Now it will not recognize the D3100 and, to my knowledge, I have not changed anything.

However, the camera is working. I can manually take a picture and store it on the camera's storage card. Also, the USB connection to the camera is working as I can see the manually taken photo on my PC.

Any suggestions?

The D3100 is use WIA driver to operate maybe in newer windows updates this is disabled.
Try to run in administrator mode the "c:\Program Files (x86)\digiCamControl\regwia.bat" file

Thank you for your suggestion and sorry for the delay getting back to you. I implemented your suggestion but it did not help. I think DigiCamControl sees the camera because the battery indicator is correct but the capture button is grayed out. Any other suggestions for the D3100? Would the Nikon D5100 in native mode work with DigiCamControl?

Thanks teds352

Yes the Nikon D5100 works perfectly excepting the bulb mode.

Thanks you again for your help. Just to follow-up, I did purchase a Nikon D5200 and it works perfectly with DigiCamControl.

I now have an extra Nikon D3100 :D
