Registry entry to find program location

Post by Serge » Sat Jun 30, 2018 5:31 pm

Hello,

Is it possible to have digiCamControl add a registry key with a pointer to its install folder?

I like the remote utility and have scripts that use it. But my scripts don't know where digiCamControl was installed to.
I would like my scripts to consult the registry instead of asking the user.
I have tried searching the registry just after installation for the install folder and the only place the path showed up was in:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\Folders\

But the key names are the path itself, eg name="D:\PROGS\digiCamControl\Data\" so if i called the folder something other then "digiCamControl" I would never find it.

Add/Remove Programs know where digiCamControl is but I have not figured out where it is getting this info from.

Best regards,
Serge
