Read and Set Focus Values via Command Line

Post by rs3d » Wed May 20, 2015 6:31 pm

Would be great to read and set the Focus Points of the camera via CameraControl(Remote)Cmd. So it would be possible to develop own stacking approaches or save certain scene states easily.Running CCRC with "/readfocus" would put out a number that can be piped into a text file "CameraControl(Remote)Cmd /readfocus > focus.txt" and with "/focus xxx" a value could be sent, allowing the camera to set this Focus Point.Overall on my Canon 550D using the LV Window Focus Controls is is quite slow compared to the EOS Utility. Why do you move slowly, step-by-step when using "large step to infinity" instead using one large step. I guess the fast focus is not precise enough, right?Ah, and it would be nice to stop the "Move Focus" command in LV with ESC, sometimes 100 steps take ages. Maybe nummerical values in the LV Focus would be quicker as well...Thank you very much :-)
