Nikon d3400 not connecting

Hello, I have a Nikon d3400 and it is connected to my computer with a usb cable, but digicamcontrol doesn't recognize it, although it says it is supported. I am running windows 10 on a mac it makes any difference. Any help would be appreciated, thank you!

I get a Connection Error: Could not translate address message when I try to log on. Any suggestions?
