2.0.76 - Beta version

This is a beta release may contain bugs, it is indicated before install, uninstall any other beta versions from control panel. This is first beta release after 5 months, the main application development and improvement slow down because the development of the Capture.Workflow which still isn't too popular because wasn't promoted too much.

New UI style

The application user interface style was changed to a Material Design based new style. Unfortunately not all design element follow the material design specification so with time this will be changed, improved mostly based on user feedback.
Some elements was removed which anyway wasn't used, the main screen screen title bar and bottom message area was removed. Panono

Web camera support

All standard webcamera should be supported, but only capture and liveview, no video recording and only image size parameter can be changed.

Support for arduino devices

You can activate this plugin using Menu=>Plugins=>Tools=>Arduino. Should work with any other device/microcontroller which use serial port for communication. It is possible two way communication, the application can send and receive commands from device. Improved negative film scanning

To make easy this operation , there a option in live view Display->Invert this will invert the live view colors so the negative film can be viewed in real color. Also a new Effect transform plugin option added to invert the captured photos

Highlights of this release

Autoexport plugins

These are plugins which can be used to add different actions when photos are transferred. There can be multiple plugins active in the same time, for every plugin can be additionally assigned an image transformation action. For example you can upload resized photos with your overlay mark to yours facebbok page or dropbox folder.

Improved photo preview

The photo loading algorithm was totally rewrited, no longer camera codec is required for raw files and the raw files are loaded almost with the same speed like the jpgs. A notable feature of the preview is the zoom to focus point - if this feature is on when new photo is captured and it’s zoomed, the viewport automatically will move to the first focused point. For thumbnail can be activated an additional info panel where will be displayed the photo basic info and a histogram with over/under exposure indicator.

Branding

This feature was requested by a lot of users, some of them just want to hide the application source/name to prevent to be used by the competition or just remove some unused features from UI. This will add possibilities to customize application interface, specially the main window and the live view window. This feature’s purpose is to set which element to be visible or not and not to redesign the user interface itself. Taking in consideration the fact that the using of branding is no more linked to this site or to the name of digiCamControl, to get this feature there is an extra donation needed under "Branding" option.

For better usability some graphical elements were moved to newly added main menu, in this way it will be more easy to find and access some application features.

Upgrade

All digiCamControl installations can be upgraded to digiCamControl 2.0.0 release without losing your settings or session data. The installer will clear the application cache, so with the first start the application will recreate it, but this may take a few minutes.

  • Rework of the bracketing - there was multiple report about bracketing not working reliable, now it is redesigned and simplified

  • Rotate preview image manually - the images can be manually rotated, the rotation is saved when images is exported or used with rotate transform plugin
  • Improvements on printing - the paper size can be changed freely and the result document can be saved in jpg, in this way some sort of photo collage can be created

Beta release 1.3.30

This version main changes is around of plugins. Now all transform plugin use ImageMagick for image processing, there are lot of advantage using it like speed, better image quality, the exif data will remain unaltered. Also some user interface improvements was done. Sample Image
