Camera damage and sync control

Post by Alayax » Wed Jul 10, 2013 12:17 pm

Hi,

I have just downloaded and installed digiCamControl. It is damn good. It does what it needs to, simply. I am a bit worried though. So this is mu question. Can the software damage the camera and or lens? I have a Nikon D800, and a Nikon 24-70 lens combo, and after playing with the program, I am finding my camera shakes, and crunches gears. It has not happened before, so please help.

I am also building a real-time 3d scanning setup, using two cameras, the D800 and my old D300s. What I am finding is that the cameras take the images when using multiple camera mode, but they are not taking the image at the same time. I need the images synced to the closest possible degree, so that the 3d analysis software can build a 3d model of the two images. I have the two cameras plunged into a usb hub, so that might be the snag. If not, is there any way to sync the two cameras, so that they take the image at the same time?
