Cannot install software

I just tried to install both the “stable” version 2.0.0.0 and a beta version on a recently wiped out old machine. Both installs failed because of an unspecified error.

The computer is an old Compaq, the OS is Win 7 which came with a new HP desktop (I lost the old Win 7 disks). Is it possible that the new Win 7 OS is “hardware specific” thus creating an install conflict that is beyond my understanding?

I was able to install an old Photoshop CS2 with no problems but did experience errors while installing MS Office. In the end, only Excel worked. The Word are the Power Point are not there.

All programs were installed (or failed) from a USB drive, since this is a stand alone machine.

Thank you!

Boris

I had the same problem. Try: digicamcontrol.com/blog/news_2.0.0 and download this version. It is called the "Stable" version by Digicam. I did it and it solved my problem.
