Using DigiCam with the timer on a Nikon D200

Hi There- I am using a Nikon D200 and want to know if it is possiable to use Dicam Control while using the timer on the camera ?? I tried it and it didnt work, I would press the focus button, and the camera would focus and then when I would press the button the rest of the way to start the timer it wouldnt do anything. Thanks in advance for your help  Sincerely- Douglas
