Connection with Nikon D3000

I want to shoot a timelapse with my Nikon D3000. I found out that the build in intervalometer in digicam control is very useful. I used it one time and the next time the camera was connected to the laptop but the digicam control app didn't seem to be able to work. The weird thing is that yesterday morning i tested the app and it worked, but today it seems to have that problem. When i press the button to take a photo, a message appears and says that "the method or operation is not implemented". I don't lnow what to do? Please help me!!
